Regulations made under the Localism Act require all Parish Councillors to complete a declaration of interest form, showing their ‘Disclosable Pecuniary Interests’. Details of these are held and published by North West Leicestershire District Council. Please use the link in this table and then scroll down to find members of Whitwick Parish Council. NWLDC’s Monitoring Officer is responsible for maintaining a list of interests of both District and Parish Members with the list being available for public inspection.
The Parish Council can invite non-councillors to serve as voting members of Committees, in accordance with regulations and guidance for this tier of local government.
Working Parties are set up to focus on specific tasks – details of these will appear in the minutes and may be short term arrangements.

Code of Conduct
Whitwick Parish Council revised its Code of Conduct in 2018 (see Parish Council/Policies page). In the interests of consistency, this was previously in line with the Code adopted by North West Leicestershire District Council. The Parish Council is also required to adhere to NWLDC’s arrangements for dealing with allegations and complaints.

Conduct and Interests
The Localism Act 2011 made fundamental changes to the system of regulating standards of conduct for elected and co-opted councillors. These came into effect on 1 July 2012. The Department for Communities and Local Government has also issued guidance for councillors:
