The North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC)  ‘Draft Local Plan’ Consultation draws to a close on Sunday 17th March 2024.

There are 4 x main areas included in this document that relate to Whitwick for future housing allocations up to 2040: –

  1. Land at Broom Leys Farm, Broom Leys Road, Coalville (C46) – 266 dwellings
  2. South of Church Lane, New Swannington (C48) – 283 dwellings
  3. West of Whitwick – Broad Location (C47, C77, C78, C86, C81) – 500 dwellings
  4. Former Hermitage Leisure Centre, Silver Street, Whitwick (C92) – 32 dwellings

Whitwick Parish Council are holding drop-in sessions hosted by Parish Councillors in an effort to raise awareness of the consultation and to support residents who wish to have their views considered by NWLDC before the plan is finalised.  These sessions will run at Park Hall, Whitwick Park, North Street, Whitwick, LE67 5HB on : – 

  • Thursday 14th March 2024 – 5.00pm to 8.30pm
  • Friday 15th March 2024 – 9.30am – 12.00pm
