Whitwick Parish Council would like to invite you to join in the D-Day 80th Anniversary Parade and Beacon Lighting Commemorations Event kindly organised by Whitwick Scout Group, in association with the Royal British Legion, on Thursday 6th June 2024, commencing at 19:30.
The commemorations will include a short service at Whitwick St. John The Baptist Church at 19:30, followed by wreath laying at the war memorial at 20:15.
The service will be followed by the D-Day 80th Parade, departing following road closures at 20:30, consisting of members of the Royal British Legion and Scouts from across Ashby and Coalville District, carrying giant flags of all 13 Nations that took part in D-Day, followed by dignitaries and members of the public.
The beacon lighting will take place at 21:15, after the parade has reached the Scout Field.
