In response to resident feedback, we are aware that residents have requested they would like more access to Whitwick Park, in order be able to use the park for fresh air, exercise and recreational activities for themselves, with family and friends and their pets.  The requests have been for access to the park prior to the current 8am opening time and during the winter months when the park is closed at 3.30pm and then 5pm.

In response to the many comments received, the council has decided upon a trial period, trialling leaving the PEDESTRIAN ONLY park gates open 24/7.

3 X PEDESTRIAN GATES LOCATIONS (2 AT THE REAR OF THE PARK LEADING ONTO THE REAR PATHWAY BETWEEN CHURCH LANE AND BRIERS WAY, 1 AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARK, TO LEFT OF THE MAIN VEHICLE GATES).

THE DOUBLE CENTRAL GATES IN BETWEEN THE CAR PARK AND PARK WILL ALSO REMAIN OPEN 24/7. Allowing residents to enter and exit at either end of the park.

The VEHICLE GATES at the front main entrance of the park leading into the car park WILL OPEN AT THE ADVERTISED TIMES AS USUAL, as per the times on the signs. These will NOT be open 24/7.

If you do see or hear of any issues whilst this trial period is on, please report any anti-social behaviour or vandalism to the police in the first instance (Call 101 for non-emergency and 999 for emergencies), obtain a crime reference number and then inform Whitwick Parish Council via email on Clerk@whitwickparishcouncil.gov.uk with your crime reference number and details of the incident.

We will be reviewing all positive and negative comments continually throughout the trial period, so please contact us directly with any feedback.

We hope residents appreciate the action Whitwick Parish Council has taken and you are now able to enjoy YOUR community facilities for longer periods of time.
