Two Rowan and two Pussy Willow trees were planted by Whitwick Parish Council at the Hilary Crescent play area earlier this month.  Planting was carried out by Councillor Anthony Barker and Councillor Peter Moult as well as Property Management Committee member, Mrs A Barker.

The trees were purchased using funding obtained through the Bardon Community Fund which was obtained with the support of Parish & District Councillor Michael Wyatt, who is a member of the Bardon Liaison Committee.  The fund itself is an initiative by local business, Aggregates Industries to give back to the local community and invest in worthy causes.

It is hoped that the planting of these trees will enhance the green space at Hilary Crescent whilst improving our local environment.

Funding was provided for the planting of 12 trees in total so further planting will take place in due course.
