Alongside the ongoing promotion of the site through the Local Plan, Barratt Redrow is preparing outline proposals for a landscape-led development at the site.
The emerging outline proposals for the site at Meadow Lane include:
- Up to 400 beautifully crafted homes, including homes from the company’s premium Redrow brand, featuring high-quality designs inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.
- The provision of affordable housing in line with local policy, in a mix including shared ownership homes that would appeal to first time buyers.
- A landscape-led design approach which respects the setting of Coalville Meadows Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
- The existing public right of way through the site retained and enhanced with connections to a new network of walking routes within the extensive new public open spaces.
- The provision of a new road link between Meadow Lane and Leicester Road, alleviating existing congestion at the Leicester Road/Warren Hills Road junction.
- The potential to provide a new drop-off area for Castle Rock School, if required by the school.
- Financial contributions to support local services and community infrastructure.
