Christmas has come to Whitwick.

For Christmas 2025, Whitwick Parish Council wanted to expand on the Christmas Lights scheme around the village.

A one-off large cost was required for the electricals installation in each lamppost column, which allowed the new Alyze lights to be installed on 10 lampposts in the village. A further 10 more lampposts are also due to be worked on by the electrical engineers at LCC so we can expand our lighting scheme even further for 2026.

There are also 8 more (including the community office) snowflake lights hanging on businesses around Whitwick. We would like to thank Three D hair, Teddys Raw Pet Food Shop, Whitwick Carpets, Colledges Florists, The Kings Arms, Whitwick Constitutional Club and Mark Davis Opticians for joining Whitwick Parish Council in hanging the lights on their buildings, again hoping to expand this further with more businesses involved for 2026!

We would also light to thank all those that have been involved with the planning and installation of all the lights. Our lights supplier, Blachere Illumination, our partners Marco and his team at Leicester County Council, Euan at Sharpes Electricals, Councillor Peter Moult for decorating the Community office, JR Landscaping and Councillor Andy Roach for his communication with Sue and Janet for yet another fantastic post box topper. Finally, thank you to all the staff at Whitwick Parish Council that have worked tirelessly to make our village light up.

We hope everyone who lives in the village or just those just driving through enjoy the lights this year. We can’t wait to add to this year on year!
